Garapa Species
With a fine grain and an attractive, naturally rich honey-golden color, Garapa is often chosen by architects, builders, and homeowners alike for its beauty and durability. A more affordable option to Ipe, Garapa stands up to all weather conditions.
Iron Woods Garapa darkens slightly upon exposure to ultraviolet light resulting in a golden-brown hue similar to natural track wood and eventually weathers to a natural silver patina if left unfinished. Yet, if the silver patina isn’t right, Garapa hardwoods can be brought back to its original beauty with regular cleaning and a coat of exotic hardwood oil applied annually, or as desired.
